Hawaiian Cruise
Part 3
HAWAII

As the passengers from the WHEATEN PRINCESS went ashore, they were greeted by a group of
dancers and haunting Hawaiian music. It was a beautiful day and everyone was so excited, especially
those who were visiting Hawaii for the first time.

The first ashore, and brimming with enthusiasm, were Max, Kramer, Finnegan P, Dasher, Dakota,
Buster and Bailey. They were most impressed with the dancing girls, and wondered if they could
learn to do the Hula too!
Cassie and Bristol went ashore later with little Lucky. They had packed his little bag and were in a
special bus taking them all to the airport. There, Lucky would be placed in the care of an air hostess
until he was met in LA by his own mommy and daddy, who would no doubt be at the airport well ahead
of time, anxious to greet their little boy. It was a happy ending to his horrific abduction. Lucky was
going HOME!
Meanwhile, there was fun and games at the beach. Brady was doing the hula as Tucker whistled a
tune while Kansas, Lacey O'Quinn, Stella and Tipper relaxed on surfboards, enjoying the
entertainment. Murphy and Clancy were discussing dog-nappers, who had been arrested as soon as
the ship berthed in Hawaii and were now on their way back to LA - to prison.

Mia came running to join in, and Kodi jumped from a nearby bench to meet her. He had been so taken
with her singing and playing in the band, and wanted to get to know her better. Here was his big
chance!
Soon, everyone was enjoying the crystal waters, and those who were not venturing into the water
were sunning themselves on the beach.
Meanwhile, our two smugglers were meeting up with their contacts in Hawaii. They presented the
box to the 'big boss' who opened it to inspect its contents.

He searched through all the toys, and then grabbed Griffin by the scruff of his neck.

"WHERE IS IT?" demanded the big boss.

Griffin managed to make a choked reply - his body trembling with fear.

"W-w-what do you mean?" he stuttered.

"IT ISN'T HERE!" exclaimed the boss, putting extra pressure on Griffin's neck so that he could
scarcely breathe. "WHERE'S THAT PINK AND BLUE RABBIT?"

(Sydney was having frightening thoughts about how the box got opened by those girls. Did THEY
steal the toy with the diamonds hidden in it?)

While this drama was unfolding for Griffin and Sydney, our two detectives, Kodi and Clancy, were
taking a stroll through the mountains to look at the waterfall when they spotted Griffin and Sydney
being attacked by two nasty looking humans.

"Aren't they two of our passengers over there?" asked Clancy, pointing to the group a little
distance away.

"Yes, they are," replied Kodi, "and they are being mugged by some robbers or something!"

"Better put a stop to that right away!" Clancy exclaimed, and they ran to offer help.

They charged at the big boss and his sidekick and sent them flying. Kodi fixed his teeth into one
man's trousers and Clancy flew at the neck of the other, Griffin and Sydney joined in and fists flew
and boots kicked BUT THE DOGS USED THEIR TEETH, and soon the four dogs had the men on the
ground.

"STOP, STOP!" the men screamed.

"NOW!" growled Clancy, "What's all this about?"

The men were shaking with fear and pleading for mercy. The big boss spoke first:

"We were just trying to get back what is ours." he claimed.

"I saw these two dogs on the Wheaten Princess with this box, so how can it possibly be yours?"
demanded Kodi.

He took the box and gave it back to Sydney, then he turned to the two men and told them to get out
of here before they arrested them for assault. The men didn't wait. They got to their feet and took
off without as much as a backward glance.

"Oh, THANK YOU so much!" said Griffin.

"That's OK. We are glad we happened to be here to help. Those two looked like really nasty types.
You boys were lucky!" Kodi said, brushing himself off.

(Sydney couldn't believe that they had actually been saved from a terrible fate by two COPS!)
They went their separate ways, and on the way back Griffin and Sydney discussed what they should
do.

They decided that they would leave things as they were. They didn't want the diamonds and would
have no way of disposing of them. They were just the 'donkeys'. Those two girls didn't know that
there were diamonds in the toy that they had obviously kept. Best not to rock the boat. Leave
sleeping dogs lie and well enough alone!

They weren't going to get paid, so they would just have to make the best of the situation, at least
they were still alive!

They hadn't thought at the time what would happen if customs back home found the diamonds in the
toy the girls had. But they would think about this later...

The scuba diving class had anchored over a site where there were wrecks to be explored. They
suited up, and were soon swimming down to the depths below. The first they saw was an old plane
wreck.
Then Cody took them a little further where there was a shipwreck. The remains of the vessel were
covered with coral.

They were amazed at the breath-taking loveliness of the coral that was covering the wreck with
unspeakable beauty. In fact, they became very emotional about the fact that such tragedy could
bring forth something which was a wonder to behold.
After the feast, they watched the dancing performances with great admiration and delight.
Many of the passengers and crew were headed to the beach, but our two dumb blondes,
Snickerdoodle and Tess, had joined up with Killian, Lexi, Brody and Ryle in the quest to find the tribe
that would set their friend, Tobey, free from his curse.

They made enquiries and learned that there was a primitive tribe up in the hills, so they set off on
foot for the native village. Snickerdoodle and Tess were getting nervous. They were afraid they
might get lost and never be found again! Brody and Ryle tried to reassure them that they were
heading in the right direction and should soon come upon the village. Then Snickerdoodle began to get
scared about the natives they were searching for.

"What if they're head hunters?" Snickerdoodle cried in a shaky voice.

"There are no head hunters in Hawaii," Ryle assured her.

"Of course not," said Killian. "All the natives are civilized now!"

"Then how come they still have a witchdoctor?" Lexi exclaimed.

"He's not a witchdoctor," Brody said firmly, "he's a SHAMAN!"

"Aren't they the same thing?" asked Tess.

Tobey gave the girls a grin and said comfortingly:

"It doesn't matter, because they are good and they are going to help me be a normal dog again, so
we can trust them."

They all agreed, so on they went with renewed enthusiasm,
Our Scuba Diving Class were on their way, with their instructor, to experience thier first open sea
dive. Cody had suggested that they dive on one of the WW2 Wrecks that was popular with tourists.

Flynn was late. Where was that boy? At last he came swimming up to the boat, full of apologies.
Fenway reckoned he'd been chatting too long with one of the girls!

Anyway, at last he was safely in the boat and they were on their way.
Some of the others who weren't swimming decided to go to the Surf Bar and get some refreshment.
Cooper, Dasher and Buster asked Abby to go with them. Captain Dillon, along with Finnegan P and
Bailey Beachboy went with them.

Bailey Beachboy was wearing his sunnies and had forgotten to take them off - so he had a rather dull
view of things! Abby was trying to get the boys to go shopping with her, (no doubt to carry her
parcels for her!) but there was NO way they were going to get talked intoTHAT!
CURSES AND CURES

Tobey and his friends had reached a clearing and they saw signs of life. This must be the village they
were looking for.

"What do we do now?" asked Snickerdoodle nervously.

"We go up and ask to talk to the chief," was Ryle's reply.

"Yes," agreed Killian. "We just act 'natural like', and DON'T show any fear."

They edged forward and suddenly they were confronted by a whole gathering of natives. They
looked fierce, and Snickerdoodle swallowed a lump in her throat and screamed for help! Only Tobey
seemed to be calm and fearlesss of the aggressive sight before them.
He advanced, with Killian and the boys, and bowed respectfully to the leader of the ferocious looking
group.

"We need your help," he said calmly.

The leader, whom they presumed to be the chief, approached Tobey and gave him the sign of peace.

Tobey went into his explanation of what had happened to him, and how he needed to have the evil
spell broken.

The chief gestured for Tobey and his friends to follow him to his village, and there they sat and
talked.

After hearing all of Tobey's story, the chief nodded his head and said that he would help. Everyone
breathed a huge sigh of relief.

He told them that their Shaman had a shark tooth pendant, and he would tell them the secret words
to chant so that the spell could be broken. Killian was elected to be the one to chant the words. So
off they went with the chief to meet the Shaman.

He was a magnificent specimen, dressed in a brightly coloured robe. Toby was dressed in a special
shiny coat with magic properties. The Shaman gave the shark tooth pendant to Killian to place around
Tobey's neck, and told her to chant the words after him, while touching the pendant.

When they heard the chant, they wondered how on earth Killian could possibly remember it, but she
had a brilliant memory, and repeated the words exactly.
There was a puff of smoke, and for a moment the earth shook so that they feared there was going
to be an earthquake, and then Tobey emerged from the smoke - completely cured of the evil curse.
HE WAS A NORMAL BOY AGAIN!

They all gathered around and thanked the Shaman and the chief with great enthusiasm. Tobey
returned the shark tooth pendant to the Shaman, and was taking off the coat when the chief shook
his head and told Tobey to keep it for good luck.

With friendly waves, they set back on the track to the city.

That evening, many of the passengers from the Wheaten Princess were invited to attend a Luau in
Kauai.

The evening began with a torch lighting ceremony and a lei greeting as they entered the luau
grounds. After the torch-lighting ceremony, they witnessed the unearthing of the traditional Kalua
Pig from the underground oven in which it had been roasting.

The delicious aroma of the roasted pig made their mouths drool in anticipation of the feast to come.
Max got very carried away and was singing "Blue Hawaii" and doing an impersonation of Elvis Presley.
All the dogs were pressing to get a better view, but it seemed that Cody and Flynn still had their
minds on diving!
The first day in Hawaii had been so eventful, and plans were being made for the next day's
activities. The girls still hadn't been shopping, and there was so much to see.

Passengers and crew crawled into their beds for the night, thinking of all the fun that was still to
come.
