| Presents Hawaiian Cruise Part 4 |
| SHOPPING AND ALL THAT! Hawaii was proving to be all that the travel advertisements promised, - and more! The next morning, the girls went on a shopping spree. The jewel shop was the first port of call for some, while others were buying up big on clothes. Abby was so upset because the ring she had her eye on was FAR too expensive. At the dress shop, the girls just couldn’t make up their minds. There was so much to choose from. The two shy girls and our dumb blondes had arrived back from their adventure with Tobey, and had joined the happy shoppers. Tess had purchased a grass skirt, but Snickerdoodle, who was allergic to insects, was afraid to get one ‘in case it had bugs in it’! Meanwhile, the boys were having their own excitement. They went to Pearl Harbour and saw a huge Aircraft Carrier in port. They wanted to have a closer look of course, and soon Captain Dillon had obtained passes for them all to go aboard. Hats came off in the breeze and Max was a little scared that the helicopter might take off and blow him away. Captain Dillon assured him that this was not about to happen. In fact, they were able to take a look inside the ‘copter, and several of the boys were keen to enlist in the Navy as pilots after that experience. The morning passed quickly, and that afternoon they had other activities planned. Tobey’s friends had been discussing how Tobey would get home now that he was a normal boy again and, of course, did not have a ticket! They decided to pitch in and purchase a ticket for him. This was taken care of immediately, and a very happy Tobey joined them in the activities in Hawaii. __________________________________________________ Many of the passengers and crew took a train ride to see the beautiful scenery. Of course, everyone wanted a window seat! They called in at a fishing village, and everyone went shopping. There were surfboards and fishing tackle to interest the boys, and the girls found some souvenirs to take home. To their delight, there were also tasty treats and…BULLY STICKS! One of the boys was elected to carry all the packages, and he found an ingenious way to do this! Their next stop was at a resort where there was a pool, a restaurant and a bar. They were all feeling a bit hot and sticky after their train trip and the hectic shopping venture, so the cool water was inviting. Some swam, while others just lazed about on the comfy chairs, watching the fun. After a swim, there is nothing more enjoyable than a comfortable chair and a cool drink! The trouble was, it was hard for everyone to find a chair. In fact, two of our friends had to share one! Tess and Snickerdoodle noticed that some were enjoying a pale green, creamy cocktail, and they thought they’d like one too. However, when Tess found out what it was called, she quickly changed her mind. It was a ‘Grasshopper’ and she CERTAINLY didn’t want any drink that one of those nasty little creatures had been hopping through! Later, some of the girls had a stroll along the beach. Poor Snickerdoodle ventured down onto the rocks to search for ‘treasures’ and could not find her way back up again. (Oh dear. These ‘dumb blondes’!) Griffin and Sydney were discussing whether or not they should let the two girls know about the diamonds that were hidden in one of the toys they had kept. They decided that honesty was the best policy. They could not bear to think of poor Tess and Snickerdoodle getting into trouble with Customs when they reached port. They would have a chat to them as soon as they were back on the Wheaten Princess. As it drew near to sunset, a group of the boys also decided to take a long hike along the beach. Some were growing very tired as they headed back, but there was DINNER to look forward to, and some of them even had dates with the girls. Standing on the balcony of the resort restaurant, awaiting the sounding of the dinner gong, were five couples who had found that they had things in common. Abby and Bailey Beachboy; - Bella Beachbunny and her hero, Guinness; - Maddie and Cooper, and the two shy girls, Killian and Lexi, who had teamed up with the two shy boys, Ryle and Brody. It was such a romantic scene as the sun went down on their last evening in Hawaii. THE NEXT MORNING, they were back on board the Wheaten Princess, ready to leave port for Los Angeles. It was a sad departure. Several sad passengers lined the deck as the ship slowly eased out of the harbour and headed for home. The haunting sound of Hawaiian music filled their ears, and there were more than a few tears shed as they waved farewell. END OF PART FOUR |
