S'Wheat Rescues policy is that foster homes for any of our rescued dogs are given first chance at adopting the dog they are fostering. This is providing that they meet the adoption requirements listed in our Q&A section. Foster homes are required to go through the full screening process including homecheck prior to being allowed to complete adoption.
Fostering is generally only available for new dogs coming into the system who have not previously been in one of our foster homes. We allow foster homes a two week grace period in order to make sure the dog fits into their home.
The date listed on the Available for Adoption page for dogs in F2A status is the date by which the foster home must apply to adopt the dog or the dog will then go up for adoption to other applicants. We do accept applications for dogs who are in F2A status but will not screen other applicants until after the date listed.
If you are interested in becoming a foster parent, please email our foster coordinator by clicking HERE.
IN F2A MEANS THE DOG IS ALREADY IN A FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME - NOT THAT THE DOG IS LOOKING FOR A FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME!
