| Sofie Sofie is a purebred female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Her DOB is 6/20/04 Sofie is a former puppymill breeding dog and she is very shy. She will need a home that can give her a lot of time and patience and let her be herself - not try and "fix" her. Sofie really loves to be around other dogs and we think that being in a home with another dog will help her come out of her shell so we will be looking for a home that has a male dog. We will try to get some better pictures soon as the camera is overexposing but Sofie has a beautiful irish coat. She is quite a bit overweight and we will be working on whittling her down a bit. Update from Foster Mom: Sofie has been here about a week now, so I thought I would just update you. She is very sweet and we have even got a few kisses on the hand. She definitely seems more at ease with women then men but she is not deathly afraid of my husband. She is has found two safe spots and likes to be in one of those at all times! She is pretty much housebroken, and likes to eat under the cover of darkness! When she is outside she paces back and forth a lot and runs to the door to come back in, however we force her to stay out there by keeping the house door closed until we are ready to come in with the other dogs and eventually she will start exploring the yard a little more. She makes eye contact and looks up when you say her name. She walks well on the leash out to the backyard. I think with some more time here with us we can get her past this point as it seems like maybe her progress had stalled in her other home. She really watches what our other dogs do very carefully and I think that is helping. Extremely food motivated LOVES treats which is probably why she is overweight. Sofie is spayed and up to date on shots and is currently located in Columbus, OH |
