| Wheaten Meetin' 2011 March 11-13, 2011 |
The Wheaten Meetin' is a yearly gathering held in the Kansas City, Missouri area for Wheaten and
Wheatable owners and anyone who loves the breed. Anyone with or without a Wheaten of their own
is invited to attend. We usually have more rescue dogs than we have people to walk them in the
parade. What better way to learn about the breed and people who are owned by them than attending
the Meetin'?
NEW IN 2011 - A BIGGER AND BETTER HOTEL!
The Wheaten Meetin' is moving across the highway from our previous venue to the Holiday Inn CoCo
Key! Not only are the hotel rooms and meeting rooms much nicer the hotel also boasts a convenience
store, Pizza Hut and A&W Rootbeer on site, a huge arcade and an indoor waterpark!
WHEATEN MEETIN' PARADE WEAR
Our "uniform" is a vest that will be a one time purchase and used every year. The vests come with the
rescue logo embroidered on them. Each year we create a new patch that can be purchased and applied
to your vest. The more years you have attended - the more patches your vest will sport! In addition
please wear black pants and a black shirt under your vests and preferably black shoes.
LOVIN' THOSE CRAZY SOCKS!
We had so much fun and looked so great with our crazy socks in the parade that we are bringing them
back! The more colorful and odd the better - we will have a contest on Saturday night and give prizes
for the best socks!
A block of 25 rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Coco Key. CLICK HERE FOR SPECIAL
INSTRUCTIONS FOR BOOKING YOUR ROOM. Important: Rooms are on a first come, first served basis.
We are only guaranteed 25 rooms at the special rate - after that it will be offered on a availability basis.
As this is often the same weekend as the Big 12 Basketball Tournament rooms may fill up - book early
to be sure and get a room! ROOMS MUST BE BOOKED BY FEBRUARY 18TH TO GET SPECIAL RATE - IF
YOU BOOK AFTER THAT YOU WILL PAY FULL PRICE!

Thursday, March 10, 2011 Water Park Night! Come a day early and join us at the CoCo Key waterpark from 4-9 pm. Discount tickets can be purchase in advance HERE Friday, March 11, 2010 7:00 pm - Hot Catered Dinner 8:00 - 9:00 pm Group and Individual Portraits. 9:00 - 11:00 pm socializing, discussion and directions for parade, creating headgear to be worn in the parade. Saturday, March 12, 2009 9:30 am - Meet at Parade site (TIME SUBJECT TO CHANGE - POSITION IN PARADE WILL DICTATE START TIME ) 11:00 am - Parade Starts - you can find out more about the Snake Saturday Parade at http://www.snakesaturday.com After parade is free time for resting, enjoying the events in North Kansas City in conjunction with the parade or whatever you would like to do. 7:00pm - Hot Catered Dinner The remainder of the evening will consist of socializing, raffle of Wheaten items, silent auctions, etc. Sunday, March 13, 2009 9:00 am - Private Breakfast Buffet.
