| EMMETT Emmett is a purebred male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. His DOB is 1-6-01. Emmett is a owner turn in. Information from his past owner is below: It is with much reluctance and sadness that I am writing to you. I need to find a good home for my dog, Emmett. Over the last six years, I've suffered from numerous chronic pain conditions and endured multiple surgeries. This year, I experienced major complications from a surgery in January, that resulted in the need for a second major recon- structive surgery, and have been mostly housebound for the past year. As a result, I have not been able to exercise Emmett as he deserves nor to keep up his training. My surgeon does not want me to take care of Emmett lest I seriously re-injury myself (requiring another surgery) from his pulling and chasing after other dogs, rabbits, etc. He's generally healthy, although he does have allergies. Nothing gets him down. He's always very happy and eager to play, although not with quite the same energy he had as a puppy. He's reasonably well trained inside, although he does jump to greet newcomers. He doesn't chew on things, and he will do sit, down, wait, leave it, go to bed, and stay inside the house if there are no other distractions. He's very loving with people. But, because we've been couped up in my apartment for most for a long time now due to my health, he's not well trained outside. He doesn't heel, he drags me around, and he is no longer socialized with other dogs (although he was before all my medical issues hit). He's never bitten anyone or any dog, but he will growl, bark a lot, lunge and pull if he sees other dogs, or bikes. My medical condition prevents me from continuing to care from him without significant risk to my own health; his pulling could undue my reconstructive surgery. I'm single and not near family, so I don't have anyone who can help with his care. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated. I also have numerous items that would come with Emmett, including a halti, premier easy walk harness & leash, two leashes, a large crate, grooming combs, food bowls, food bin, bedding, kong, stuffed toys and balls, and training books. He is neutered and up to date on shots SEPTEMBER 2008 - A FOREVER HOME Emmett has been adopted by the Kamm/Striegel Family of Illinois CONGRATULATIONS! |
