| GAVIN Gavin is a purebred male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. His DOB is 12-28-04. Gavin is a owner turn-in. Info from the owner is below: Gavin bullies kids when he's out playing with them. He's attended obedience class and spoken with a dog behaviorist. (Last resort. I'm not sure everyone is a Dog Whisperer like they believe.) We've asked breeder, trainers and Wheaten owners and all seem to suggest it's an alpha male issue and some dogs just aren't good with kids. I believe he is textbook in many, many ways. I am the dad in the family and Gavin is an absolute sweetheart toward me. He's playful, energetic, mischievous and happy, happy happy. He gives a wheaten greetin' like no other and is so welcoming to any adult who comes to visit. He does have a discipline problem of being too friendly and jumping up a bit, but we continue to work on that. He's fine with my wife and our older 2 children also. They are 20 and 18 while the youngest is 11. Gavin won best personality in obedience class, but we still have to work with him. I believe this is another strong trait of a wheaten -- strong-willed and smart. He loves daily walks, although he doesn't do well on his leash without his Gentle Leader. I never should have started him on that, I don't think. He's very good with other dogs and enjoys romping with the neighbor dog in their fenced yard. He's Mr. Congeniality when we go to the dog park. He just loves being with the other dogs and racing them. We will not consider any homes with children under 14 for this dog.
