Hobbes

Hobbes is a 4 month old purebred male
Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Hobbes was removed from his home
when his owner was taken to rehab - it
was quickly discovered that the puppy
had a very bad break in his front leg.

Hobbes leg has been repaired and now
it is a waiting game to see if his leg will
grow normally and if he will be able to
use it. If it does not heal and become a
usable limb it will have to be amputated
but we are hopeful that will not happen.

If you are interested in Hobbes it is
important that you list "Hobbes 2" on
your application as we have more than
one Hobbes in rescue at this time.

Hobbes will be neutered and be
brought up to date on shots prior to
adoption. He is currently located near
Belvidere, IL

November 13, 2008 Update

Hobbes was seen by the vet today and
had x-rays on his broken leg. At his last
appt. right before he came into the
rescue the vet was concerned that he
did not seem to have good mobility and
flexibility in the broken leg, when we
got him into rescue he was immediately
put on
FlexGel to help him heal.

We are pleased to report that the vet
today was "extremely happy with his
mobility and flexibility"! Quite a
turn-around in just 2 weeks time.

The cast has been removed an other
than a restriction to stay off stairs for
the next month it looks as if Hobbes will
be fine and the danger of losing his leg
is past!

Hobbes is neutered and up to date on
shots.
