KOBI

Kobi is a purebred male Soft Coated
Wheaten Terrier. His DOB is 8/1/08

Kobi is a owner turn-in. Another familiar
story of a Wheaten puppy in a home with
small children and it not working out:

I have a 4 month old Wheaton.  He was
obtained from a breeder in Reading, PA.
Basically, the breeder has two pet
Wheatons and has a litter or two a
year for extra money.  He is up to date on
all of his shots but has  not been
neutered.  We've had the puppy since
mid-October and it has  been a struggle.
We have 3 children ages 9, 6 and 23
months.  He has  not bitten anyone;
however, he is too much for the younger
two  children.  He is very mouthy with the
family.  He does not bite hard  but he is
constantly nipping at our body parts
including our face  which makes me
nervous with the children.

Our previous dog (English Springer
Spaniel) passed away last year at
14. The Wheaton breeder led us to
believe that Wheatons were not as
rambunctious as Springers.  In our case,
this is not true.

He does seem to be a little aggressive at
times.  I have had some  issues with him
trying to play very rough with me
(snarling, kicking,  etc...).  It may just be
the breed.  He has only done this with
me not the children; however, it does
make me nervous.  Our previous dog
was  very gentle.  He does seem quite
stubborn.

We also have an inground pool in the
fenced back yard.  He keeps  running on
the pool cover thru all of the mucky dirty
water.  Besides  the mess that has to be
cleaned up every day, I am worried that it
may rip and he could drown.

He is very sweet with anyone who comes
in the house (all kisses).  He  has not
shown aggression with anyone but me.
I'm not sure if it's  aggression or just
rough play.

Since I am a stay at home mom, I thought
I could handle the puppy  along with the
children.  I was wrong and now realize
($1100 too late) that a puppy is not for us
at this time in our lives.

Kobi is neutered and up to date on shots.
