| SHANNON Shannon is a purebred female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Her estimated DOB is 4/03 Shannon was rescued from a Commercial Breeder and came in with Vinny, Anna Lu and Rose. These dogs seem to be a lot better socialized than a lot of the breeder dogs we get into rescue. We got tail wagging and kisses from them all. SHANNON UPDATE Shannon had two masses on her belly that we originally thought were mammary masses. When they went to take care of the second one they found it was actually a herniated area and the mass was her uterus that had fallen out through the hole and was only protected by the skin around it. The uterus was removed and the herniated area repaired. They also deep cleaned her ears, removed two bad teeth and cleaned the remaining ones. She was in surgery over 4 hours. This girl has been in constant pain for years. There should be a special place in hell waiting for people who let dogs stay this way. The picture on the right shows the surgical staples used to close her wounds - you can see how extensive it was. Her belly appears to be dirty but that is what it still looks like after she was scrubbed down for surgery. She and the others had been dirty and lying in filth for so many years it is embedded in the skin. In time a it will flake away as she looses skin cells. Shannon is very sweet and despite all that people have done to her, she still has a tail wag and kisses and loves to get attention and be petted. Thank you to everyone who has donated to make it possible for us to help dogs such as Shannon. Shannon is spayed and up to date on shots prior to adoption. She is located in Kansas City, MO |
